MOODLE COMPOSER — browser version (alpha 1.8.0)
=====================================================

A visual editor for Moodle section posts. This version needs NO installation and NO administrator rights:
it is just a folder of files that opens in your web browser.

GETTING STARTED
 1. Unzip this folder somewhere you normally keep files (Documents is fine). Don't run it from inside the zip.
 2. Double-click "Open Moodle Composer.html" — it opens in your usual browser.
    Best in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Firefox works too (see below).
 3. Read the Quick guide that appears (the ? button brings it back any time).

SAVING YOUR WORK
 Edge / Chrome: File > Save asks where to put the file (it starts in Documents). After that, Save overwrites the same file.
 Firefox: File > Save downloads an .html file to your browser's download folder (Firefox can't write to a chosen folder).
                 Tip: Firefox Settings > General > Downloads > "Always ask you where to save files" lets you pick the folder.
 Your posts are ordinary .html files — nothing is hidden. File > Open reopens them.
 Composer also keeps an automatic draft in your browser, and offers to recover it if you close the tab by accident.
 (That draft, plus your "My blocks" and "My presets", live in this browser on this computer — move to another computer
  or browser and they won't follow. Use Insert > Manage my blocks / House style > Manage presets to copy them across.)

GETTING A POST INTO MOODLE
 Easiest: File menu > "Moodle bookmarklets…" and follow the two-step setup (drag two buttons onto your bookmarks bar).
 Or: Copy for Moodle (button, top right) > in Moodle: Edit settings > Tools > Source code > paste > Save > Save changes.

THINGS THAT ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE MAC APP
 - Keyboard shortcuts use Ctrl instead of Command. Your browser reserves a few of them (Ctrl+N, Ctrl+O, Ctrl+Shift+C),
   so use the File menu and the "Copy for Moodle" button for those.
 - Spell-checking is your browser's own (red underlines; right-click for suggestions).

PRIVACY
 Nothing leaves your computer: no accounts, no uploading, no tracking. The only network use is the optional Moodle bookmarklets,
 which run on your own Moodle page.

IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG, OR YOU HAVE AN IDEA
 - Click the ? button (top right), then "Report a problem" or "Suggest a feature". You'll see exactly what will be sent before you send it;
   it opens an email to Ryan in your own email program. Nothing is sent automatically, and your post is only included if you tick the box.
 - Blank page or missing icons: try Edge or Chrome; make sure you unzipped the folder first.
 - "My blocks / presets disappeared": they are stored per browser and per folder location — don't move the folder after you start.
 - Anything else: tell Ryan what you clicked and what the browser said.
